Dr. Denise Hayes
Director of Counseling and Psychological Services @Indiana University-Bloomington
Denise Hayes, Ph.D. is a licensed Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP) and has a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Indiana University. Dr. Hayes formerly worked at CAPS as a staff psychologist, served as associate dean of students and director of counseling and health services at DePauw University and as vice president for student affairs at The Claremont Colleges. This native of Indianapolis has published and presented on a variety of topics including African American women leadership, clinical approaches for students of color, and cultural competency within higher education. Her dissertation focused on single student mothers and their perceived support. As part of her commitment to her profession, she served as president of the American Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD).
