THANK YOU, HAROLD!!!

01:15:06
Thank YOU Harold. That was information needed to hear/learn.

01:16:39
Thank you Harold for sharing your story. The bad apple vs the bucket model is so critical to dismantling these systems and redefining a new path.

01:20:03
Thank you, Harold, for helping us think about the horrific story of Greenwood with your personal experience.

01:29:45
Yes Yessica! Chase corporation manages EBT card system. With every swipe they make $ off low income people.

01:41:04
@Yvonne, yes, completely extractive. Also, in Colorado, Walmart is the #1 effort to get people signed up for SNAP benefits. Unbelievable.

So much good information Yessica. Thank YOU.

01:42:20
Yessica its so powerful to hear how your story has translated to your current path. A lot of times only one element of the three is considered. Its easy for us to get into either or but all is necessary for change. Thank you for your vision and making the magic happen!

01:44:45
Thank you all! I truly appreciate you being here. We are all part of the solution to dismantle white supremacist culture. Let's make it happen!

THANK YOU, ASIA!!

02:01:59
Thank you all!!!

02:02:05
Gratitude to each of you

02:02:13
That's beautiful. Thanks Asia.

02:17:20
How do we understand the dichotomy between the passage of H.R. 40 out of the House Judiciary Committee with the January 6 insurrection at the U. S. Capitol? Can the country handle both reparations and white supremacy?

02:19:10
What I remember from Randall Robinson's book was his practical suggestion that reparations could be in the form of college scholarships. Probably because I teach college that makes sense to me - but would land grants or cash grants be more effective?

02:19:52
For Harold -- In terms of "Emergent Systems" how can we form and nourish communities of practice and grow their influence?

02:20:22
. . . here in Denver

02:20:32
What kinds of things/happenings/news/projects etc. give all 4 of you hope around the shifts that we know need to happen given how many white supremacists there are in this country?

02:20:47
I have to jump into a meeting. This was fantastic and I thank you for your time and information share!!!

02:22:11
In addition to scholarships, I would also encourage you all to work towards more equitable admission practices to ensure that scholarships are creating real opportunities.

02:22:42
Thanks, Lotte, excellent point!

02:23:22
I should also mention that I invested the first 12 years of my professional life devoted to opening doors of opportunity to underserved students. I believe in education.

02:27:43
Yes . . . reminds me of the old story about the importance of putting new wine into new wine skins to ferment because they can stretch! We need new mindsets, new forms, new systems. 🙏

02:28:27
In the spirit of Octavia Butler I’d love to hear what your vision what the world could look like 20 years from now.

02:30:17
The model Harold shared really resonates. I’m curious what thoughts the four of you have on the value of working within entities that are complicit in the existing power structure to encourage receptivity to change, while providing support or using privilege to provide shelter for the rising culture generating movement for change.

02:33:24
Harold, your model of change shows your systems engineer background but also is fascinating to ponder. I would like to hear you explore more about what you define as hospice work.

02:34:54
Yessica -- may it be so! 🙏

02:34:59
AHSE!

02:37:25
Amen, Lotte!

02:37:41
Yea, thanks, Lotte!

02:38:08
Tacos por todo!

02:38:20
YES, Asia!

02:39:23
Yes! Let's make it so.

02:41:23
Thank you for your vision— to all of the presenters!

02:42:10
Head: Thoughts that inspired

02:42:18
Heart: moments of inspirations

02:42:24
Hands: concrete actions.

02:44:26
The collective power of where each presenter is coming from. Emergent strategy -Healing through acknowledging the past, heart and vision for the future is what gives me the most hope.

02:44:35
Inspired to: Keep telling and promoting the truth and working with whites to help in the waking up process. I love thinking along the lines of hospice work. I took pics and want to review the slides and show to some others to inspire more discussion. I’m more deeply inspired to tell the truth and to encourage others to tell the truth. Feeling all the more relieved to be in a community that is exploring what to do with our money.

02:44:42
I want to help members of my church community and me deepen and grow our understanding of Beloved Community as a practical, lived experience, part of the emergent system of partial reparations.

02:44:48
I think for me, what struck me was the ending of Harold’s presentation about the native people’s. I had no idea about that history. But I am so appreciative of Harold’s history and family in OK. More stories need to be heard and taught in the classroom as a standard.

02:45:25
Head: eagerly chewing on the model Harold shared. Heart: really felt the transformation in Asia's sharing about bringing health to the local community. Hands: look for ways to engage in supporting the rising cultural change. Thank you all for your openness and willingness to share!

02:45:30
Heart: I found the emergent model very inspirational - thinking of little pockets of healing connecting with one another and replicating and building an alternative future!

02:47:31
So inspired by all the information shared, powerful!; moments of inspiration are many and specifically looking deeper into my personal history/narrative further; and the concrete action of continuing to be still, do my inner work and engage with leadership/truth/vision like what was so beautifully displayed here today.

I want to encourage us ALL to TALK ABOUT the history of Greenwood and that next month is 100 year anniversary. We need to tell others. A LOT of people don

02:49:21
don’t know about it.

02:50:37
Thanks, all! 🙏
